Recently the boys Varsity Soccer team had qualified for the CIF playoffs being ranked 2nd in CIF as potential competitors for the championship. As predicted the reached the final and faced La Quinta. Unfortunately leading the game with two early goals La Quinta retaliated with a 3-2 victory over Santa Ana. Although the team lost it was a very exciting match.

The Saints then went on to face Buchanan in the state regional and lost 2-1. Overall the season for Coach Penaflor and the Varsity team was very successful. They were not only recognized as a team but some individuals were recognized as well. Juniors Anthony Arellano and Oscar Navarro were named to the First Team All-CIF Division One. Overall both of these very experienced soccer players had a very successful season individually and as a team. This year has definitely been a year in the history books for the Santa Ana High School Varsity Soccer Team of 2014-2015.
