SANTA ANA  – Biggest earthquake to strike Mexico with an 8.1 magnitude. The citizens living in Juchitan were awaken at night by the biggest earthquake to have hit Mexico on Thursday September.

New Mexico had the last largest earthquake with a 8.0 magnitude in 1985 with an estimated death rate of 9,500 around and in New Mexico.

“I think it was really scary for the people because at some point people don’t know how to react and can react differently,” said Sophomore Johany Carmona.

This epicenter was 54 miles away from Oaxaca. A hospital in Juchitan collapsed and people were helped on the streets. A lot of damage was done because of the earthquake.
