Winter sports pep rally energizes crowd

As the first semester of the 2022-23 school comes to an end, band, cheer, dance, and winter sports teams came together when ASB hosted its final pep rally Friday morning during an extended sixth period.

The assembly kicked off with the introduction of SAHS graduating classes. The crowds expressed their excitement with a “clash of classes,” when one person from each grade level played musical chairs to earn a point for their class. The juniors got two wins while seniors got one.

The basketball team expressed its rally call, “Sanits on 3, Family on 6, 123 Saints! 456 Family!” and energized the crowd with its high hopes for a CIF run this season. The girls basketball, boys wrestling, girls and boys soccer, and girls water polo teams were also introduced.

Throughout the rally, the Saints dance team, NJROTC, folklorico, and girls polynesian dance all delivered performances.

The assembly closed with the SAHS alma mater and pep tunes from the band.

There will be more celebratory pep rallies in the spring.
