The Santa Ana High baseball team was defeated by Orange by a score of 4-0 on April 27.

The Saints close their season with a four game losing streak and an overall record of six wins and 17 losses. They finished 4-8 and in 6th place in the Orange Coast League.

In the beginning of the second inning, junior outfielder Christian Nieto hit a single to right, letting senior catcher Erik Razo advance to second and later in the inning senior Matt Van laid down a sacrifice bunt advancing Nieto to 2nd and Razo to 3rd, but the Saints were unable to scratch.

In the 3rd inning, junior Julian “Juju” Gonzalez hit a line drive single to center and senior infielder Josh Delgado advanced him, but again Santa Ana was prevented from getting on the board.

The Panthers (16-12, 9-3) scored one in the first, one in the third, and two in the seventh to complete the shutout.

The week prior, the Saints had the opportunity to play at Angel Stadium, where they fell short in a 3-0 non-league matchup with Long Beach Poly (23-3).
