The anticipation for the season was having high standards and striving to reach our goal and that’s to win a championship,” he added.

The Saints had 257 total yards of offense, consisting of 99 passing yards and 158 rushing yards, scoring in each quarter along the way (7, 6, 14, 14) They also had 3 turnovers in the game.

“Tonight our guys played hard, we played together and we didn’t stop fighting until the end. We improved from last week,”  assistant coach Luis Cruz said.

A week later, Santa Ana came up short in a 68-48 shootout on the road against Laguna Beach (3-1). The team returns to the field tonight at 7 p.m. when it hosts St. Margaret’s (1-3) in the Orange Coast League opener.
