Baseball team rides shutout to victory over Saddleback
Santa Ana High coasted to an 8-0 win over Saddleback on Friday, April 14 behind a complete-game shutout from Joshua Delgado.

“I felt good from the start,” Delgado said. “I just knew I had to compete, throw strikes, let my defense work, and really just lock in for all 7 innings.”
The offense did its part as well, beginning in the 2nd and 3rd innings, respectively, when junior outfielder/DH Yoandi Vidal Diaz and junior infielder Julian “Juju” Gonzalez each came across to score, getting the Saints (6-16, 4-7) on the board with a 2-0 lead.
In the 3rd, senior shortstop and right fielder Troy Banuelos put Santa Ana up 4-0 when he reached on an error allowing Joel Duenas to score.
Banuelos and senior shortstop Emiliano Valadez tacked on RBI hits in the 4th and 6th innings to complete the scoring for Santa Ana.
