The Santa Ana High School Winter Pep Rally was held in the Big Gym on January 19 as sports teams, dance team, cheerleaders, band, choir, song pom, and ASB participated to bring the Disney-themed event to life.
The event started with the ASB club mentioning all classes level to see which group has the most support. All four levels were supporting their own class with a lot of energy and shouts of excitement.
Bella Wilson, a choir student, participated in the performance of the national anthem before Oscar Lopez, Jairo Salgado, Andres Aguilar, and Kevin Santos sang and played “mi bello ángel” by Los Primos de Durango.
Every sports team was announced and came to the center of the court to make their traditional cheer that they use before each game.
The cheerleaders and dance team also made appearances, showing what they’ve been working on all year.
The event ended in the best possible way, with the famous Mexican song “payaso de rodeo” by Caballo Dorado, where all the audience had the opportunity to dance its classic choreography.
“My experience in pep rally was very good and at the same time stressful because of the sport I practice, but it is fun and a great experience for my senior year,” cheerleader Jaydy Barrera said.
Soccer captain Luis Antonio Anguino said, “my experience in the pep rally was good. It was my final pep rally, the people dancing amazes me because half of the students have different talents and it is a great experience in my last year at Santa Ana High School.”
